Here at Hamilton Hills over the past few years we have packed hundred of shoeboxes annually. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. The mission is to provide local partners and churches around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The shoeboxes get shipped outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
This year we are challenging every family at Hamilton Hills to take and pack a shoebox or shoeboxes from September 5 – October 31. The Operation Christmas Child display will be located in the lobby of Hamilton Hills. There you can get questions answered, receive shoeboxes to take with you, and return your shoebox to be guided on how to track the shoebox you packed in order to bless a child with hope.
