About Our Logo
The Hamilton Hills Baptist Church logo was designed to communicate several of our key ministry values. The building in the upper left is a church. Notice the marks on either side that look like tracks going to and from the building. The tracks indicate activity. Some of that activity, such as corporate worship, fellowship, and discipleship, takes place inside the church building. Some, such as evangelism and ministries of compassion, along with much of our small group ministry, takes place as we return to our homes, neighborhoods, schools, and places of employment.
The leaves on the far left side symbolize life and growth. No one at Hamilton Hills has arrived. But we are alive spiritually in Christ and our relationships with Him help us to stay on the grow.
In front of the church is a river. Notice how much more turbulent the water becomes as you move away from the church. The world can be a cruel and stressful place. Worship, ministry, and fellowship with other Christians around the Word of God helps to restore a sense of peace and harmony to daily life.
Finally, notice the cross on top of the church. The cross is a symbol of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, our Savior. We are forgiven of all our sin because Jesus took our place at Calvary. The cross is empty because Jesus rose again on the third day victorious over sin and death. Soon after, He ascended on high and was exalted as Lord at the Father's right hand.
