Hamilton Hills is glad to sponsor a local chapter of the national program, AWANA, which stands for 'Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed.' That is a biblical reference to kids being prepared and growing as Christians. The mission of the AWANA organization is "Helping churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love, and serve Christ."

 AWANA Clubbers earn badges and pins based on their progress in scripture memory, work book completion and special service projects. Club time includes games, singing, counsel time, and one-on-one working with the leaders on scripture memory. Kids participating in AWANA are from age 3 (by August 1st) through 4th grade.

The AWANA year runs from fall to the beginning of April and ends with an awards ceremony where the kids receive special recognition in front of their peers and families.
